A dream is a powerful thing.
Without dreams, there would be no growth, no aspirations, no deeper meanings of our lives to decipher. There would be no paths to forge for the betterment of ourselves and those around us, and no outlet for us to decide what we want to do with our brief existences as conscious beings.
But what do we, as humans, see in our dreams, as opposed to the waking world?
Is what we see just extensions of outward stimuli? Is it the society we live in, shaped by our own experiences, and the culture that we create for both ourselves and others?
What if it’s a world as alive as the one you and me know, but somehow infinitely more vast and beautifully mysterious?
That fantastic world is the setting that PHANTASMAPOL takes place in.
PHANTASMAPOL is an online web comic that combines an ethereal dreamscape world with the gritty and harsh conditions of a neo-noir setting. The characters in design can take the form of anything, from devils, to animals, even aliens and insects. Though their personalities maintain the intense pulp roots they’re inspired by.
The project has been an idea that started in the back of my mind, and even in some bits and pieces, my dreams at night. It has slowly materialized into what you see today, and, with great practice and effort, I hope for it to grow even more as the years go by.
With a mix of lighter, comedic elements, time honored characters, and a world that has yet to be fully explored, I hope PHANTASMAPOL will be as important to you, the reader, as is it to me.
